223 Carbine
“223” is a five day introduction
to the U.S. current issue and other semi-automatic battle carbines
in .223, 7.62 x 39, 5.49x39. The AR-15 carbine is a light, handy,
easy to use battle proven system that has seen service around the
world over the last 40 years. It can deliver accurate fire from
a contact distance out to 300 yards.
In
your carbine class, you will learn the special characteristics of
this nearly universal system. You’ll learn manipulation, continuity
of fire, use of various sighting systems and flashlight techniques
for low light conditions. You’ll learn to quickly acquire
the best position for a good hit, and how to clear malfunctions.
You’ll learn to get first round hits out to 300 yards, and
will hone your new techniques in a variety of indoor and outdoor
simulators, in full daylight and low light/no light environments.
Your “223” class will give you the general skills to
defend yourself or do your duty.
This class is also offered as a 3 day offsite in Indiana. Cost for the offsite class is $469. Call the training coordinator for details.

556 Carbine
“556”
is the course for those who want to master the carbine. In “556”
time pressure is increased as distance to target is decreased, mirroring
conditions from the field. Advanced manipulations, short reaction
times and quick transitions to the secondary weapon are stressed
in this fast-paced, hard-driving course. You will learn to shoot
well on the move in any direction of travel relative to the targets.
You will learn to shoot from unusual, but effective positions. You
will have a great many advanced simulator problems and force-on-force
exercises. “556” is physically and mentally demanding.
It is also equally rewarding.

CTP Carbine Tactical Problems
Mirroring
Gunsite’s other advanced offerings, “CTP” is the
“finishing school” for carbine shooters. This is the
most advanced training offered anywhere for people who want to achieve
the highest level of skill. You may spend some time on the “square
range” dialing yourself back in with the basics. But don’t
get comfortable there. You’ll be spending most of your three
days out in the simulators or in force-on-force exercises individually
or in two man teams. You’ll be asked to perform at your best
in increasingly complex tactical scenarios where split-second decision-making
is the norm. You will thoroughly wring out your gear in day and
night exercises designed to ask the most of you that you can deliver.
Guided by our professional instructors, you will reach deep to become
the best that you can be – proficient with the carbine and
unbeatable in a fight.
